A quote is a time-limited, priced offer to a customer. Acceptance converts it into a ; expiration closes it without creating an order. Quote lines support quantity breaks, and the selected price carries into the order. Quotes are optional because sales orders can be created directly. When a quote is used, it and the resulting order share an rather than a direct link.

Status lifecycle

Each line tracks its own progress too: Not Started, In Progress, Complete, or No Quote for a line you decline to bid. Finalizing a quote moves it to Sent and marks its lines Complete, leaving any No Quote line as it is.

Digital quotes

A Sent quote can be shared with the customer over a private link, no login — the URL is in the quote’s share dialog. The page shows the quote lines with images, the quantity-break pricing, the totals (subtotal, discount, tax, shipping), the shipping method and payment term, and any external notes. Internal notes are stripped before anything renders, so the customer never sees your working comments. From that page the customer accepts — entering their name and email, picking the quantity break per line, and optionally attaching a purchase-order PDF — and the quote converts straight to a sales order, stamping who accepted it. Or they reject, again with a name and email, and the quote moves to Lost. A companion customer portal then shows the buyer live order and job status as the work proceeds.

Becoming an order

Converting a quote, internally or by the customer accepting, builds a sales order from its lines at the negotiated price. It opens at To Ship and Invoice when a line ships physical goods, or To Invoice for a service-only order with nothing to ship. The quote itself flips to Ordered, or Partial if only some lines converted.
