# Getting started

> The first-run setup wizard that creates your company, seeds its baseline configuration, and hands you a working tenant.

A new account remains in the `/onboarding` wizard until it belongs to a company. Onboarding is complete when the company has a **name** and at least **one location**. Submitting the Industry step creates both.

Company details are saved for tenant provisioning on the next step.

**Theme.** Pick a color theme (cosmetic, stored in a cookie).

**Your profile.** First and last name, both required.

**Company.** Company name, full address, base currency, optional website.

**Industry.** How to start: a [demo-data template](/docs/platform/demo-data.md) for your industry, or a clean, empty company. Alforse staff also get a [backup](/docs/platform/backups.md) restore option. Submitting creates the company and everything a usable tenant needs.

The last step, **Plan**, opens Stripe checkout. Once the company has a name and a location, signing in sends you straight to the Plan step until a plan is set up.

NOTE

**Company provisioning**

Creating the company also creates a **"Headquarters"** location from its address, links you as an employee, and seeds the company's baseline data. You can change most defaults under [company settings](/docs/reference/company-settings.md).
