# Integrations

> Connect Alforse to your accounting, CAD, project-management, quality, estimating, spend, payment, and messaging tools.

Alforse provides first-party integrations with third-party applications. Enable and configure them per company under **Settings → Integrations**.

They require the **Business** or **Partner** plan (feature `INTEGRATIONS`). **Email** is available on every plan.

## How a connection works

Each integration has a system-wide **definition** and a per-company **activation**.

* The **definition** specifies required fields such as API keys, OAuth tokens, and mapping options.
* The **activation** is a `companyIntegration` record: an `active` flag plus a `metadata` object holding
  credentials and settings. Alforse validates this metadata against the definition before activation.

Connections are established one of three ways, depending on the app:

| Style | Apps | How |
| - | - | - |
| Provider settings | Email | Pick a provider and fill in its fields. |
| API key | Linear, Paperless Parts, Rillet | Paste a key (and any options). |
| OAuth | Xero, QuickBooks Online, Jira, Onshape, Slack | Authorize Alforse with the provider; tokens are stored for you. |

Mount, Sage Intacct, Ramp, and Stripe Connect have their own connection settings on the integration's page.

NOTE

Disconnecting sets `active = false` but retains stored credentials. To remove credentials, clear the integration settings before disconnecting.
