# Overview

> Alforse is a manufacturing system: ERP for the office, MES for the floor. These are the technical docs.

Alforse is a manufacturing system with **ERP** for orders, purchasing, planning, and accounting, and
**MES** for shop-floor jobs, operations, and tracking. Both applications use one data model.

These technical docs describe system behavior, fields, and operations. For the end-to-end flow, start with the [**sales order**](/docs/reference/sales-orders.md) and follow it through shipment and traceability.
